Itautec is a well-known ATM, kiosk and computer manufacturer in Brazil and South America. Headquartered in Sao Paulo and with a manufacturing plant in the city of Jundiaí (SP), it has 5,709 direct employees – 5,285 in Brazil and 424 abroad. The company has the tenth largest base of automated teller machines (ATMs) in the world, and the second in Latin America.
Challenge
As part of a solution for one of the major banks in Brazil, Itautec needed to ensure that the ATMs to be deployed were not only highly secure and efficient, but also were user-friendly with high availability.
Our Solution
Itautec was successful in achieving these goals by integrating INNOVATRICS technology into their terminal software for 1:1 verification and matching. The INNOVATRICS solution was chosen following its outstanding results in NIST MINEX II testing.
Result
The biometric fingerprint solution has aided the bank in combating identity fraud, simplifying authorization and enabling the identification of fraudsters. Biometric authentication is now used at over 40,000 ATMs nationwide. It has also allowed the bank to offer tailored services to its clients.
