The voting process for 10 million citizens in Mozambique ensured by Innovatrics AFIS software

Face Technologies implemented a biometric voter registration platform for the local, provincial and national elections in Mozambique. The government of Mozambique has chosen biometrics to prevent duplicate votes and to ensure that elections will take place in the upmost democratic environment.
A real challenge for Face Technologies was to enroll 10 million voters on the field, in the towns and whole country, and to instantly identify voters registering more than once.
Face Technologies, with the assistance of QiSQi, has successfully deployed Innovatrics IDKit Mobile SDK on 3500 handhelds used as enrolment stations and Innovatrics ExpressID AFIS (Government Edition) on 17 parallel servers for instant identification. Thanks to the fast AFIS matcher and the compatibility of biometric engines on handhelds and servers, the architecture provides "real-time" answer and thus ensures democratic voting process.
