Read moreInnovatrics is expanding ACE-V capabilities in ABIS for Criminal Investigation with new features that help forensic teams manage examinations more clearly, support different review models, and keep unresolved latent evidence active as investigations move forward.
ACE-V, or Analysis, Comparison, Evaluation, and Verification, is a widely used forensic methodology for latent print examination. In Innovatrics ABIS for Criminal Investigation, the updated workflow supports a more flexible path to manage latent fingerprint examinations. It also supports multi-user workflows and blind verification in line with common forensic practice.
This release builds on Innovatrics’ earlier ACE-V support and brings more of the workflow into daily casework.
ACE-V is widely used in forensic work, but the way it is applied can vary across agencies, regions, and countries, often shaped by local legislative requirements. Some agencies require clear separation between roles, while others rely on smaller teams with a more flexible way of dividing work. Innovatrics is shaping the workflow to support different use cases and agency ACE-V policies, from small teams to large departments, without forcing agencies to change the established workflows they already rely on.
A new examination view gives each forensic expert one place to see assigned work across cases, open items, and the next step that needs attention. That helps reduce case-by-case navigation and makes daily workload easier to manage, while keeping assignments, comparisons, and verification within the same system.

One of the most valuable additions is support for Automated Enrollment-to-Evidence Searches, meaning comparisons can be created automatically instead of being triggered manually. When a new suspect is enrolled or new record is added, the system can compare that record against unresolved latent evidence and automatically generate a special comparison that acts as an investigative lead following examiner review.
That gives investigators and forensic teams a better chance of uncovering links that might otherwise be missed, including older cases. And while ACE-V is most closely associated with fingerprints, the same structured approach can also support face and video investigations in Innovatrics ABIS.
