The Unique Identity Authority of India (UIDAI) has selected and successfully utilized Innovatrics fingerprint technology – ANSI & ISO Fingerprint SDK for Android

Innovatrics’ ANSI&ISO SDK continues to demonstrate its interoperability as it consolidates another successful implementation in one of the most ambitious and cost effective projects of the year.

The UIDAI has integrated a fully functional biometric authentication system through the Aakash 2 tablets utilizing Innovatrics’ ANSI & ISO Fingerprint SDK in India. This new biometric authentication method will considerably decrease the expenditure of UIDAI’s mobile projects.

The competitive advantage that led Innovatrics’ ANSI & ISO SDK to be selected for UIDAI biometric authentication systems are primarily its precision, speed and certifications around the globe. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has awarded the Innovatrics algorithm for its accuracy, it has become one of the top 3 most accurate fingerprint matching algorithms on the market. Moreover, ANSI & ISO SDK’s remarkable extraction speed of 100ms has set unprecedented records taking an essential part in a series of applications in the largest biometric project in existence to date.

Furthermore, ANSI & ISO SDK is the only fingerprint extraction, template generator and SDKs matcher that comply with both STQC (Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification Directorate) and MINEX.

About UIDAI

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), is an agency of the Government of India responsible for implementing the AADHAAR scheme, a unique identification project. It was established in February 2009, and will own and operate the Unique Identification Number database. The authority aims to provide a unique id number to all Indians, but not smart cards. The authority will maintain a database of residents containing biometric and other data.
