Innovatrics Facial Recognition on the Edge Elevates Nx Witness Video Management System

Users can now connect as many smart cameras as they need to Nx Witness Video Management System without a huge server infrastructure for facial recognition

Since the integration of Innovatrics SmartFace with Nx Witness over two years ago, users have been able to easily implement advanced facial recognition capabilities within their video management system (VMS) environment. This integration marks a significant advancement by making it possible for edge devices like cameras to now serve as full-fledged VMS servers.

Gone are the days when you needed large servers or had to build server farms to deploy facial recognition technology. By porting SmartFace onto the edge, our solution enables a single server to distribute identities in real time while allowing the connection of an unlimited number of cameras with facial biometrics to the Nx Witness VMS. Integrators can therefore save a significant amount of resources.

Streamlined yet easy-to-configure integrated solution

Following the integration, the process is as simple as a “plug-in” of the smart camera and basic configuration, facilitating seamless data flow directly to Nx Witness. Jason Lee, NetworkOptix APAC Platform Manager, further adds in our recently concluded webinar: “It becomes a streamlined yet easy-to-configure integrated solution for the camera, video analytics, and VMS.”

Thanks to the Nx metadata SDK, the integration process has been successfully carried out. The solution allows a smart camera, equipped with a SmartFace Embedded stream processor, to transmit all identified faces along with metadata to the Nx Witness VMS server. This data is readily accessible through the Nx Witness VMS Desktop, offering users real-time insights.

Optimal user experience

By offering centralized identity management and synchronization features, we have enhanced the user experience that is a must-have in real-world use cases. This ensures efficient and effective surveillance and monitoring operations, bolstering security efforts across various industries and applications.
