Biometric Ventures, Innovatrics’ venture initiative, has formed a strategic partnership with Zero One Hundred to invest together where biometrics meets robotics, security and dual-use technology. The partnership covers joint investments, shared deal flow and collaboration across the Zero One Hundred ecosystem, and takes Biometric Ventures beyond direct startup investments for the first time.
Biometric Ventures invests in early-stage companies developing or applying biometric technology. The partnership with Zero One Hundred extends that focus into fields where identity is becoming a core design requirement.
As robots move out of controlled environments and into manufacturing, logistics, critical infrastructure and healthcare, they need to know who is operating them, who is authorised to issue commands and who they are working next to. Security and dual-use systems face the same question as access control, monitoring and perimeter protection become automated.
In every case, reliability depends on the identity layer. Biometrics is that layer: operator authentication, access rights and secure human-machine interaction.
“Robotics and dual-use applications are where biometric technology has to prove itself in the physical world. We believe this intersection will produce a number of compelling companies, and partnering with Zero One Hundred lets us back them together, early, before the opportunity is obvious to everyone else,” said Vojta Diatka, CEO of Biometric Ventures.
The two firms have already made their first joint investment, to be announced in the coming weeks.
Biometric Ventures and Zero One Hundred share deal flow on companies where biometrics meets robotics, security and dual-use technology. The exchange has already produced introductions on both sides, so each firm sees more companies than it would alone.
Biometric Ventures will take part in Zero One Hundred Conferences and the Doers Summit, speaking on the role of biometrics in robotics and security, with the aim of raising the profile of biometrics across the European tech and venture community.
“Every humanoid deployed this decade will have a human behind it somewhere, watching, correcting, taking over. The robot is only as safe as the system’s ability to know who that human is. Deepfakes already beat video onboarding; the same attack on a teleoperation link puts a machine on a factory floor in the wrong hands. Identity is not a feature of physical AI. It is the precondition for deploying it at all. Innovatrics has spent twenty years proving that layer at government scale, and Biometric Ventures brings it to the companies we back together,” said Adam Ďurica, General Partner, Zero One Hundred.
The partnership complements Biometric Ventures’ direct startup investments and gives it access to a broader network of companies and technologies. Zero One Hundred, in turn, gains biometric expertise and the wider Innovatrics ecosystem.
