Innovatrics releases major upgrade to ExpressID AFIS product.

ExpressID AFIS v 1.3

Announcing the release of ExpressID AFIS v1.30

Building upon its award winning fingerprint analysis and matching technologies, Innovatrics is proud to announce ExpressID AFIS v1.30. This new version features increased matching-algorithm speed, support for 64-bit operating systems, and user categorization through tagging adding significant value to an already robust and powerful fingerprint matching solution.

Increased Speed

Innovatrics continues to lead the market with ExpressID AFIS. The newly improved 1.3 version can now attain 1.5 million fingerprints per second on a single Intel QuadCore(TM) processor enabling companies to deploy powerful fingerprint matching solutions on commodity hardware.

Support of 64-bit Windows Operating Systems

Innovatrics recognizes the computational advantages of 64-bit operating systems. More efficient computing equates to increased productivity and to help companies capitalize on that, Innovatrics developed ExpressID AFIS v1.3 to leverage this more powerful operating system architecture. Part of this 64-bit support includes the elimination of previous 2GB RAM memory-per-node limitations (ExpressID AFIS Government Edition) allowing you to store more than 2 million fingerprint templates on a single Node, thereby decreasing the amount of required Nodes and lowering overall hardware costs.

User Categorization

The new user categorization feature helps you to create and attach tags to user records, effectively categorizing users. This categorization structure significantly enhances the performance of ExpressID AFIS by decreasing the overall size of the database when searching for a fingerprint match. For example, you can have a tag "male" and a tag "female" and a tag "New York" and a tag "Washington.” When performing an identification search, the search can be applied just to "males" from "New York", which will considerably decrease the database size and thus improve the overall AFIS response.

TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)

The new features of ExpressID AFIS v1.3—improved performance, commodity hardware, support for 64-bit OS—demonstrate Innovatrics’ commitment to helping their customer’s bottom line. Because these new features greatly enhance how efficient and effectively ExpressID AFIS operates, your Total Cost of Ownership is significantly reduced!

Additional Improvements

ExpressID AFIS v1.3 also includes a number of additional features that provide even more value to licensees:

  • Support of templates from Lumidigm Venus readers—If you have Lumidigm Venus scanners, you can use their embedded algorithm to extract templates that can be used by ExpressID AFIS directly. The Lumidigm Venus scanner will generate ANSI-378+ templates that you can export to Innovatrics’ proprietary template compatible with our software.
  • Multi-core Performance—improved identification performance by 10-20% on multi-core processors
  • Parallel Processing—parallel request processing in Government version improves performance of non-identification tasks (primarily registrations)
  • Encryption and Security—SSL/TLS encryption of client-server communication is now officially supported and fully documented
  • Application Threading—threaded applications or application servers can connect to and query multiple databases/servers simultaneously
  • Bitonal Improvement—improved accuracy for bitonal (black and white) images
  • Template Size—configurable maximum template size
  • Application Efficiency—templates are densely packed in memory providing for up to 90% of physical memory to be used for templates
  • Networking Protocol Optimization—improved intra-cluster network performance (through recycling of TCP connections)
